Blitz Tournament

The Blitz Tournament was also held among the participants of the ongoing International Chess Festival in Nakhchivan Chess Center. 74 chess players competed for the first place in the tournament.

Azerbaijani grandmaster Nicat Abasov (2633) won the overall prize fund of two thousand dollars.  He scored 7.5 points out of 9 games. Azerbaijani grandmaster Gadir Huseynov, Vugar Rasulov and Iranian grandmaster Purramezanali Amirreza scored 7 points. Nail Bashirli, Kenan Garayev, Tornike Sanikidze (Georgia), Vladislav Kovalyev (Belarus), Misraddin Iskenderov and Timur Garayev (USA) have scored 5-10 places. Let's note that the prize money was awarded to chess players who finished the blitz tournament in the first ten.
